The Queen of the Sea in bronze, the body reclining, hair loose in the wind and the tail resolved in scales. The casting has left a dark patina in the hollows and bright metal on the ridges, so that the figure changes with the light of the room.
Iemanjá is no incidental subject in this house. Every second of February, since the 1990s, the shop opens its doors for the feast — Rio Vermelho is the district from which the offerings go out to sea, and the windows of the shop look onto the procession.
