GOMIL DE PRATA

A gadrooned body on a high foot, the handle a volute crowned by a mascaron. The gomil — a water ewer for washing hands at table — is the object that best displays Portuguese civil silverwork of the eighteenth century. One such Portuguese silver ewer was among the works chosen for the Lisbon opening.
